Scorched Bench

I am not quite sure how to explain this one but I was given the chance to either paint it with regular paint or burn it as a form of sealant and stain. I decide to scorch it instead as it looks more unique and also it makes the product more resistant to decay. I have had the bench for a about four years and also it is very sturdy as it can hold more than fifty pounds in the carry area, and can support two hundred pounds of weight from someone sitting.
